Joined the Naval Reserve in the fall of 1952 for eight years but didn’t want to serve two years active duty on a ship so I quit going to weekly meetings, requesting to serve the last 3 ˝ years in the Army through the draft.
I ended up receiving an Honorable Discharge from both the Navy and the Army.
I was honored to serve in the Military. I served out of respect and in memory of those who served in active duty to preserve our freedom that we now enjoy.
