I was inducted in the United States Air Force February 1951 at Baer Field, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I was assigned to the 163^rd Fighter Squadron Motor Pool and received schooling at Fort Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming.   There I graduated as Mechanical Technician. 

In 1952 I was sent to Sioux City, Iowa, Air Base.  I served with the Motor Pool maintaining fuel tankers and truck refueling for P51 airplanes. 

I was discharged in 1952 as Airman 3^rd Class.  My active duty time was 2 years.
