I served in the Navy from July 1949 until April 1953.   I went to Seabee Carpenters school.   I was stationed at North Island Air Station, San Diego, for approximately 1 ½ years and the attached Seabee Battalion 1509 and sent to the Marshall Islands.   I was in the Marshalls approximately 1 ½ years.   I obtained the rank of 3rd class petty officer.   Received Good Conduct and Service medals.
