Howard “Doc” Dafforn, 68, R 2, Avilla, died Friday, June 28, at 2:45 p.m. in Parkview Memorial Hospital. He was born May 14, 1917 in Allen County to George and Maude (Scarlett) Dafforn. He married Clara Schenner on March 3, 1945, and she survives.

Two grandchildren
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Dafforn attended Valentine School and graduated from Huntertown High School. He retired from International Harvester after 39 years. He was a World War II veteran and a member of VFW of Kendallville, Avilla American Legion Post 240 and Moose Lodge in Auburn. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Avilla.
Services were Monday in St. Mary’s Church with Fr. Bernard Galic officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the cancer society.
