ROY, VELMA R. (COOLMAN)

Garrett – MRS. VELMA R. ROY, 67, Route 1, Garrett, died at 3:10 a.m. Friday in DeKalb Memorial Hospital, Auburn.   She had been a resident of this community since 1955.   Mrs. Roy was born Jan. 24, 1913 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of WILLIAM and RUTH (CARTWRIGHT) COOLMAN, and was married to WAYNE E. ROY.  The husband survives.

            STEVEN ROY, Corunna

A brother:

            CARL COOLMAN, Three Oaks, Michigan

Three grandchildren

 

Mrs. Roy was a member of the Alter Star United Methodist Church near Churubusco.  The body is at the McKee-Miles Funeral Home, Garrett, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.   Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Rev. James O’Dell, pastor of the Alter Star United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Chapel Cemetery.
