SPITLER, ROBERT
Fort Wayne – ROBERT LEE SPITLER, 91, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2007, while residing at the Breckenridge Village Retirement Center, Willoughby, Ohio.
Born September 3, 1915, at his family farm near Churubusco, he was the eldest son of the late FORREST and LOIS (HAUEISEN) SPITLER. He was graduated from the General Electric Apprentice Program and served in a variety of assignments at the Taylor Street Plant as well as assignments in Patterson, New Jersey. His career was that of a Manager of Manufacturing and later an Industrial Engineer. He retired from Westinghouse Airbrake Company (American Standard Company), Peoria, Illinois. He was an elected Councilman two consecutive terms to the Borough of Ramsey, New Jersey City Council and, in retirement, as Water Commissioner for the City of Laurel Park, N. C.
After the loss of his first wife of 31 years, HAZEL, he was married 36 years to the late ANN (RUDD) SPITLER. He was a lifelong member of the Huntertown Lodge 689 of the Free and Accepted Masons.

BENJAMIN L. SPITLER of Key West, Florida
ROBERT J. SPITLER of Indianapolis
BING G. SPITLER of Cincinnati, Ohio
Nine grandchildren and
Seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister: HELEN KLOPFENSTEIN
Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at D. O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, with calling two hours prior. The Rev. Dr. David Michel will officiate.
