+ Mary A. Waters b: Aug. 31, 1855 d: March 21, 1943

There was also a Louis Badiac found in the 1880 census of Milan Township.
Both Charles and Louis say their father was born in Canada, and their mother in France.

From the 1850 Census of Washington Twp., Allen Co., IN we find the following children for
Thomas Louis Badiac that probably may be added to his family. 961-913
Thomas Badiac 55 born low CAN farmer born abt. 1795
Ursala 36 born abt. 1814
Mary 11 born abt. 1839
Catherine 10 born abt. 1840
John B. 9 born abt. 1841
Joseph 7 born abt. 1843
Elizabeth 5 born abt. 1845
Lucy 3 born abt. 1847
Amelia 1 born abt. 1849
Then in 1870 after Thomas had died (1858) we find this census
1870 Census of Washington Twp., Allen Co., IN
Jane Badiac 55 born France born about 1815
Lucinda Badiac 23 born IN born about 1847
Thomas 19 born IN born about 1851
Charles 17 born IN born about 1853
Margaret 15 born IN born about 1855
From these two census reports we can probably assume that the following children were born to Thomas and Jane/Ursala:
MARY, CATHERINE, JOHN B., JOSEPH, ELIZABETH, LUCY, AMELIA, THOMAS, CHARLES and MARGARET.
Joseph born about 1843 is probably Joseph in the above descendants who married Mary Smith.
There are two marriages for a John B. Badiac
To Eliza Rhodes on June 14, 1866
To Catherine Plank on Feb. 25, 1863
Elizabeth is probably Elizabeth Badiac, born April 24, 1844 and died Jan. 19, 1914 and who married Charles Franklin Pichon on Nov. 19, 1867. Elizabeth died in Fort Wayne.
Amelia/Emelia J. Badiac did not marry and is found at age 61 in the 8th Ward in Ft. Wayne.
Lucy of the 1850 census is probably Lucinda of the 1870 census born about 1847.
Charles may be Charles Isadore Badiac who married Mary Waters.
The 1880 Census of Milan Twp., Allen Co., IN shows this:
Louis Badiac married male, 29 born IN Farmer
Father born CAN, Mother born France
Mary Badiac female, 23 born IN Keeps house
Josephene Badiac single female, 4 born IN
Eva Badiac single female, 2 born IN
This would indicate that Louis was born about 1851. Is it possible that Louis above is really
Thomas of the 1870 census who may have been named for his father, and yet called himself Louis instead of Thomas??
We find Eva J. Badiac, born about 1877, married George E. Kohlmeyer, born about 1870 in Germany. They were married and had Thomas, born 1913, and Millie born July 25, 1917 and in the 1930 Census we find that Louis Badiac, 79, is living with his daughter and family. Again Louis says his father was born CAN and mother born France.
George Kohlmeyer is 59 and a roller in a cigar factory
Eva is 52 and they have two children, Thomas 16, and Millie, 12.
We also have younger Badiacs to get into their right family positions. We are asking for help from some of you who may have already done the genealogy of the family or know of some of these connections. Please contact us with any information you may have.
We have Charles W. Badiac who married Hattie Belle Opliger and had a son Ralph and daughters Ruby and Ruth. Whose son was he?? Was he the son of Charles Isadore??
We also have Isadore W. Badiac who married Ethel M. Gloyd and had son Isadore Charles Badiac.
Need connections to get these Badiacs into their correct families and hooked up with the proper parents. At present it is a work in progress.
