Obituary for Sarah (Greer) Carroll Kelly

Mrs. Sarah R. Kelly, seventy-nine years of age died Tuesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Tressler, 325 West Williams Street.
Mrs. Kelly was one of Fort Wayne’s pioneer residents, having resided here for sixty-seven years. The deceased was born in Pittsburgh in 1832, and at the age of twelve years came to Fort Wayne with her parents. She was twice married, her first husband being William Carroll, whose death occurred in 1862. Mrs. Carroll was then united in marriage to Daniel Kelly, whose death occurred twenty years ago. Years ago she was a member of the Cathedral parish, but at the organization of St. Patrick’s congregation, she transferred her membership to the church nearer her home. She was a member of the Rosary society and the Sacred Heart league.
Surviving relatives include four children – Mrs. Elizabeth Tressler, at whose home death occurred; William Carroll, of Warsaw; Miss Margaret Kelly, of Los Angeles; and John Kelly of this city. Eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 o’clock at the residence of Mrs. Tressler, and at 11 o’clock at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
